Required Criteria:
- A maximum of $250.00 will be available to each member selected for assistance.
- Funding is designed to pay for registration and CE course. Members requesting the full amount must take a CE course. Members requesting assistance for CE courses must register and attend all sessions of the Annual Meeting, including the business meeting.
- Applicants must have a genuine need for financial aid due to lack of institutional travel support or adequate salary support.
- Applicants must have paid FHSLA membership dues for the year previous to date of application and must be current FHSLA members in good standing.
- Recipients of scholarships for the previous year are not eligible for scholarships for the current year.
- Scholarships will be limited to one person per institution.
- Applicant must complete an application form, including a statement answering the question: "What do you expect to gain professionally and/or personally by attending the FHSLA annual meeting?" Scholarship award winner(s) will be expected to attend sessions of FHSLA's Annual Meeting, including the business meeting and submit a brief (250-300 word) follow-up report to be published in the FHSLA Alert.
- Application deadline will be one week prior to the early registration deadline. Applications will be sent to the chair of the Honors and Awards Committee.
- The Honors and Awards Committee will have the responsibility for deciding whether applicants meet the criteria and awarding the scholarships.
Priority Consideration Criteria:
Applicant's length of time as a FHSLA member
Applicant is participating in the program at FHSLA meeting
Applicant's involvement with FHSLA committees
Applicant is a first time attendee at FHSLA meeting
