FloridaHealthFinder.gov: Find information to help you compare hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, health plans, nursing homes, and prescription drugs. The website also lists Florida health care facilities; information on health insurance; medical care resources for the uninsured; resources for seniors; and much more.
Florida Health News: Florida Health News Inc., an independent online news service, is a not-for-profit journalistic enterprise that was launched in March 2007 with seed money from foundations. Their mission is to inform the public on state and local health policy and finance issues as they develop. Florida Health News (FHN) posts health-related stories reported around the state, highlights the Florida impact of national stories, posts upcoming conferences and other key events and tracks state health legislation. As financially struggling newspapers shrink coverage of serious health issues in Tallahassee and around the state, FHN intends to step up to fill the gap, through staff and free-lance reporting. FHN also offers e-Alerts, a Monday-through-Friday news service, available at no charge by signing up at this site.
Florida Electronic Library: Florida Electronic Library is available to all Florida residents that have library cards with bar codes. It contains two resources that may be of particular use to health information consumers: Health &Wellness Resource Center; and Health Reference Center Academic.
