There will be no physical Annual Meeting in 2018. No scholarships will be awarded this year.

Required Criteria

  1. A maximum of $250.00 will be available to each member selected for assistance.
  2. Funding is designed to pay for registration and CE course. Members requesting the full amount must take a CE course. Members requesting assistance for CE courses must register and attend all sessions of the Annual Meeting, including the business meeting.
  3. Applicants must have a genuine need for financial aid due to lack of institutional travel support or adequate salary support.
  4. Applicants must have paid FHSLA membership dues for the year previous to the date of application and must be current FHSLA members in good standing.
  5. Recipients of scholarships for the previous year are not eligible for scholarships for the current year.
  6. Scholarships will be limited to one person per institution.
  7. Applicant must send a letter of application including the information requested below.
  8. Scholarship award winner(s) will be expected to attend sessions of FHSLA's Annual Meeting, including the business meeting and submit a brief (250-300 word) follow-up report to be published in the FHSLA Alert.
  9. Applications will be sent to the chair of the Honors and Awards Committee.

The Honors and Awards Committee will have the responsibility for deciding whether applicants meet the criteria and awarding the scholarships.

Priority Consideration Criteria

  1. Applicant's length of time as a FHSLA member
  2. Applicant is participating in the program at FHSLA meeting
  3. Applicant's involvement with FHSLA committees
  4. Applicant is a first time attendee at FHSLA meeting

Requested Application Informaton

Applicants need to include the following information in their application letter.

  1. Name, institution name, address, phone number, and email address.
  2. Are you a librarian or a paraprofessional?
  3. Is this your first time attending FHSLA?
  4. How long have you been a FHSLA member?
  5. Are you on any FHSLA committees? If so, which one(s)?
  6. Are you planning on presenting a paper/poster at the meeting?
  7. Does your institution provide a budget for you to attend meetings? Please explain.
  8. Please describe what you expect to gain professionally and/or personally by attending the FHSLA Annual Meeting?
